The presence space

One of my favourite quotes is from Amy Wright Glen's book "Holding Space: On loving, dying and letting go...."As we companion, as we hold space, we can staunchly safeguard the interests of those suffering, creating a safe container within which deeper emotions may surface”.

Presence is that safe container. It's not always flashy, tangible, or discernible upon arrival. But, it is unwavering and true. Presence acknowledges what IS, at that moment. There is an intentional nature to presence, a showing up, a being aware and noticing. Presence is a witness to Being in the world, sandwiched between the things that have taken place and the events yet to be. The staunchness of presence is its power.

The Loyalty and firmness of presence in the face of chaos and change can be life-altering. It says "I see you" in a way that words cannot. Presence's fidelity honours the very fabric of another's Being and in Being-with someone, one creates a unique shared space and time.

Presence unites space and time and opens us up to possibility.
